If you were to look up “young genius” in the dictionary, you would find Sawyer Howitt’s photo there. He is a young motivated teenager from Portland, Oregon, with a strong interest in business. Because of his skills and knowledge, he is the Project Manager for his father’s company, the Meriwether Group. His key responsibility as the project manager is to make sure the projects that are carried out by the company are handled properly. He must guide the team in the right direction. Sawyer Howitt is perfect for the position, as he has shown the characteristics of being a great leader. He is known for showing up to work with a determination to handle every task he is given. Nothing seems to big for him. He has the ability to work with complex spreadsheets, as well as construct thought-provoking presentations.
Howitt is currently a second semester senior in high school. Throughout his high school career, he chose to center his studies around business and finance. In an effort to prepare himself for the corporate world, he participated in various administrative internships. He worked at Kure Juice Bars for awhile in which he gained customer service experience as well. Sawyer Howitt already has the knowledge it takes to run a business. He is familiar with the operational and financial requirements of it. That in return, gives him an entrepreneurial mindset.
Sawyer Howitt is on his way to pursuing a degree in Entrepreneurial Finance from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to learning about entrepreneurship for his father, Howitt is also learning from other executives at the Meriwether Group. He has a very huge support system.
At such a young age, Sawyer has done so much for his community. He has helped to mentor troubled youth. He also has led a international ethnic study group. He has directed his share of different philanthropic organizations that centered around women’s rights and educational funding. His ultimate goal is to provide support for other upcoming entrepreneurs and businesses. He plans on helping them in a very meaningful way.
